The CBR test is used for determining the relative bearing ratio and expansion characteristics under known surcharge weights of base, sub-base and sub grade soils for the design of roads, pavements and runways. Tests can be conducted on all types of soils including sand, gravel and washed stone (passing through 20 mm IS Sieve). The […]
Sampling Augers
Augers are used to collect distributed soil samples at reasonal depths for laboratory tests. Augers are available in two type and each in different sizes. Blade type (post hole type) and Helical type (Screw type). Each auger outfit consists one each of Auger head, one meter long rod, Tee piece and hangle. Depths of excavating […]
Plastic Limit Test
Moisture contents at which soil has smallest plasticity is called limit. For determination purpose plastic limit is defined as the water content at which a soil will just begin to crumble when rolled in to a thread of 3mm dia. Specification : The complete set consists of one each : Glass plate 20cm x 15cm […]
Density Bottle (GAY-LUSSAC Type)
For determining the particle density (specific gravity) of sand, fine aggregate & filler. Capacity 25ml, 50ml, 100ml, 250ml, 500ml & 1000ml.
Liquid Limit Device (With Counter)
Casagrande method in mechanical form is known as liquid limit method and has been in use for soil mechanics for a number of decades. The liquid limit data of soils is useful to correlate mechanical properties of soil, such as compressibility and lower shear strength. Liquid limit is the water content at which soil passes […]
Permeability Apparatus (Falling Head Permeability)
The apparatus is used for the laboratory determination of permeability of soil using a constant or a variable head. This test is recommended for soils with co-efficient permeability in the range of 0 10-3 to 10-7 cm/sec. The maximum particle size of the soil which can be tested in the mould is 10mm. Specification :The […]
